I was working as a Pupil Nurse ( training ) at Nobles when this tragedy struck. My friend and I had worked a 10 hour shift and had just returned to the Nurses Home at 21.00 hrs when Matron came over and asked for all the nurses to come back to work. I ended up in Casualty, she was sent to Summerland by Ambulance to help there. After an hour or two, I was put to work on the Children's Ward with the burns victims. I left work at 01:00 am very tired, only to return at 07.30am.
They were very brave. I hope all of the victims are well now and have no more nightmares.
