I used to visit my grandparents in the IOM as a child very often. I have lots of very happy memories but, unfortunately, one that remains in my mind is a tram-crash that I seem to remember happened around 1976/78ish?,where - if I remember rightly- someone in a mini was driving on the wrong side of the road and ended up crashing into the tram? The reason this story continues to come back to me is that my grandmother and I didn't get on that particular tram because a family of about 5 needed the seats at the time and my nanna let them on before us so that they could be together... I remember coming down the tramlines and seeing a sea of fire-rescue;police;ambulance crew etc. Does anyone else remember this terrible tragedy?
