Jean,
just by chance I happened to see in an old deed that I had extracted a while ago, Malew South Side Sales May 1737 # 92 , the following:-
John Creer of Ballasalley and Thomas Killop and his wife Margaret also of Ballasalley sold, for the sum of £1/11/-d, to Mr Charles Moore, Deemster, a certain parcel of intack near to Deemster Moore's house and adjoining the croft of Robert Shimmin on the north east and to Leagues Broom field on the west and to the highway on the east – of yearly Lords rent of 3d. Signed 28th October 1736 and published in Castle Rushen on 18th May 1737.
[This John Creer not identified – but presumably Margaret Killop was his sister for them to be joint owners of this piece of land!]
This would then seem to indicate that Margaret Creer, daughter of John Creer, was christened on 3rd June 1716 in Malew - according to an uncorroborated IGI entry. However this would seem to connect this Creer family to Ballasalla - unfortunately I have not researched the Creers of Ballasalla back before about 1730!
Every little helps though,
regards
John
