Asking for help in finding out two major things that I've hit a wall on:

1) I am looking for the parents of my paternal great, grandfather. I do know, that my paternal grandmother told me that her grandfather was the "Headmaster at Jurby Prochial school." Unfortunately, she could't tell me any more than that. I have traced back to him, and his wife, Jane ... and was (happily) able to find some info on her side of the Gell family.

Here are the Statistics, that I've been able to confirm thorugh England Census's.

1) Jonh Stephenson;
DOB> 1831, Douglas, IOM
DOD> 16 October, 1888, Jurby, IOM

MARIIED > Jane Gell
DOB> 1836, Douglas, IOM
DOD> 15 My, 1898, Jurby, IOM

I keep running into problems in my research through the census ... when I find there were are a couple of JOHN STEPENSONs born in the same year.

BTW> It was suggested to me, aobut 4 or 6 months ago, that John married Ruth Muncater. Is my only resource to order their Birth and Marriage Certificates? (I've done that for my England born relatives ... What's the contact for Isle Of Man birth and marriage certificates, please?
