Thank you for your posting. I haven't had any luck as yet turning up extra information. I had a look on the IGI website - is your Henry b. 27 July 1856 in Patrick, son of John and Isabella? I can't definitely link this into our Cowells but it is possible that John could be linked somehow. Patrick and German (where my Cowells originate) are next to each other. At the moment I have found 7 children born to our John Cowell btw 1826-1845, including John Thomas b. 1828. I'll be interested to know if you find anything definitive that could link our families given that the name Cowell does not appear to be as common as I first thought.
