I have used the Family Tree DNA of Houston, Texas and am very satisified with their results. They give a "discount" rate if you go in under a family surname to be tested. If there is no surname project currently, you can start one with their help & they provide a website for you to use. You do not have to have any certain number of participants to start a project. As long as you are tested under one of the surnames, you will be charged $99 plus $2 shipping and handling. That converts to about 50 pounds at the current exchange rate. I started in November with my own uncle's DNA for a Cain Surname Project. We now have 9 participants. I am hoping to find a Manx connection with the name Cain from about the early 1700's. You can go to their website for all the details at: www.familytreedna.com.
