the above who died Aug 9th 1894, aged 41 years.

In the name of God Amen. I John Cannan of Ballanea in the parish of
Michael being of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding do
make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner and
form following that is to say: I leave devise bequeath unto my son John
Cannan of Kirk Michael Village Grocer all and singular my right title and
interest in and unto that certain meadow situate in the parish of Lezayre
called Close E Cottier at present in the possession of my son in law
Charles Patrick Teare to hold unto the said John Cannan his heirs and
assigns upon his the said John Cannan's paying the amount of principal
and interest of a promissory note due by me to Elizabeth Quayle of
Conk-Urleigh and in which said promisory note my said son is joined
with me but should the said John Cannan his heirs or assigns refuse to
pay and discharge the said note the hereby devised meadow shall become
the proper of my executrix in this my will named hereafter and shall be
sold and disposed of by her to discharge the said promisory note and the
surplus of the price then of if any be assets in her hands.
I leave also to the said John Cannan the big chair, the kitchen table, and
frame the dresser, hob and large pots.
I leave and bequeath to my grandson John James Cannan son of the
aforesaid John Cannan, the bedstead on the back kitchen loft and one
sheep.
I leave and bequeath to my sons Robert Cannan, Charles Cannan, and
Daniel Cannan the sum of five shillings each as legacy and the like sum
to my son William Cannan as legacy. I leave and bequeath to my son
Thomas Cannan the sum of ten pounds sterling as legacy but without
interest until the said sum be demanded.
I leave and bequeath to my son Philip Cannan the sum of five shillings
the bedstead bed clothes and bolster as they are at present on the
parlour loft and his late mother's feath bed.
I leave and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth Teare wife of Charles
Patrick Teare the sum of five pounds to be paid to her on her husband
quitting possession or paying the mortgage which I have upon and
affecting the said meadow

Christian Cannan the bed stead bed and bedding as it now is in the
parlour the cupboard therein and the chest called hers and the brown
horned cow and I hereby nominate constitute and appoint her my said
daughter Christian Cannan whol and sole executrix and residuary legatee
of this my last will, In witness whereof I have hereunto subscribed my
name this 24th day of August one thousand eight hundred and sixty four
