Re: Children born - father apprenticed

There was a case in my family where a child was born during the father's apprentice-ship. He was not permitted to marry. The child was christened in 1834 [illegit. son of John Tear & Jane Corkill] the L.D.S. indexed under the mother's name. Several years later the couple married + the son was always known by the father's name + later family members had no idea that he had been born outside of wedlock.
