Re: Ann Jane Radcliffe marr. Robert Bannon

Yes, I think you are right, Ian, that Ann Jane Radcliffe was born in 1839. And was either the dau of John R & Ann Skeally [bapt Andreas 29 Sept 1839] or of John R & Catherine Corlett [bapt Andreas 11 July 1839]. Both bapt Ann Jane.

She wasn't recorded as underage at marriage, and her father was John Radcliffe, farmer:

Robert Bannon laborer Andreas father Robert Bannon shoemaker
Ann Radcliffe Andreas father John Radcliffe farmer
Married 21 July 1860

The ages she gave at censuses 1861 - 1901 were 22, 28, 41, 51, 61, all give Andreas as birthplace [thanks, Brian].
Assuming she was most likely to give the right age a year after marriage - before lopping off a year or two as she got older - the bapt date of 1839 looks the most likely, although there were numerous Ann Radcliffes bapt Andreas a year or two later.

That son with a second name Corlett might indicate that the grandmother was Corlett?

"William (b. 1763) by his marriage to Jane Kaighen established a family known as the Ballavastyn branch, because of the residence of some of them on part of that quarterland. William's son and grandson, both named John, were only sons, but the grandson John (b. 1817) had ten children by his marriage to Catherine Corlett, and another seven by his
second marriage to Ann Jane Kissack." [Constance Radcliffe]
