Yes, you are absolutely right, the distinction between the records for deaths, burials and monumental inscriptions must be understood. Someone could be buried, but no MI. Someone could be cremated and have an MI. Someone could be cremated and not have an MI, plaque, or name entered into the Book of Remembrance (which has a page turned every day of the year, so that you can look at the appropriate day on the anniversary).
I think I was just pointing out to those who do not know that people who were cremated at the DBC between 1960 and 1989 (your cut-off point) may/will not show on the burials lists. In otherwords, if someone is looking for a deceased, just because they do not show on the burials list, it does not mean that their remains weren't scattered at the DBC, or that there isn't a plaque there. The thought just occurred because, when I saw the new listings, I looked for certain family names, which of course, did not show.
I understand that application has to be made to the Douglas Corporation for cremation, but I really do not know what records are available. The Crematorium staff keep their records also, as I explained by private email.
I do not wish this to sound like critisism, because that is not the intention. I enjoy looking at your site, and using your information, to print off easy cross references for my own use. I guess I should be ashamed, living only 10 minutes walk from the Manx Museum, and 2 minutes walk from the Latter Day Saints centre. But the internet is a little more friendly time wise.
Thanks for all your good work!
