Hi. I was very interested in your message though the John Archibald I have birth is given as 1824 - 26 so he may not be the same guy. I have record of a John Archibald born in Peel (possibly Castletown) who emigrated on 10 February 1852 with his wife Margaret and children, John and Thomas, on the ship Ellen Maria. They arrived New Orleans 5 April but then I lose track of them. Their emigration was paid for by the LDS church but for some reason they chose not to go to Utah. In 1841 census John is an agricultural labourer at Glenaspet while in 1851 he was living at 17 Arbory Street, Castletown and is described as a servant. Are thes your family?
