Edward W. Shimmin was my grest grandfather. He was born May 28, 1885. June 17, 1855 was the date that he was christened. He married Sarah Matilda Edwards February 15, 1882. His only dughter, Mary Elizabeth(Bessie),was my grandmother. Bessie married Albert H. Heimke and they bought Edward's farm when he left because he didn't care for the ND winters. Edward died July 27, 1916 in Alvadore Oregon and is buried next to Sarah in Eugene Oregon.
