Re: Researching BLACKBURN and KEED families

Hi, Amanda!

The only Elizabeth Wood in the online) IGI for Malew (or anywhere else, for that matter), from 1760-1800 is my GGG-Aunt, Elizabeth Wood. Unfortunately, she was christened Jan 1, 1800, and would be too young to be the one in question. It is a very good possibility that yours could be a sister or cousin of my GGGG-Grandfather, James Wood, b. abt 1773, who married Isabella Corlett. Unfortunately, that is where my info runs out. I don't know who James' parents or siblings were. The only possibility I've found in the IGI is a Thomas Wood who had a son James in 1773, but that was in Patrick. If James left a will, I can find no reference to it.

Elizabeth, Sophia and James are all commonly appearing family names and the family has strong ties to Liverpool. I'd love to make a connection, but I just don't know how to go about it with the resources I have at the moment. Please be sure to let me know when you find Elizabeth's siblings/parents, and I will continue to work at finding a connection.

Please feel free to email me any time at bblackie@there.net.
