I am researching the BLACKBURN and KEED families of the Isle of Man. Mark KEED and Elizabeth WOOD married in Malew on August 17, 1812, and had the following children: Mary, Elizabeth, Sophia, Mark, George and James. Sophia was christened in 1818 in Malew, and married John BLACKBURN, also born on the Isle of Man, in Liverpool on August 28, 1837. They had the following children: Elizabeth, Sophia, Catharine, John James, Martha and George Alfred BLACKBURN. The 1851 Census finds them living in Stretford, Lancashire. Living with them at the time were two lodgers from the Isle of Man - William RADCLIFFE, aged 21, and his wife Christian, 28. Visiting on the night of the census was James S. CAIN, a 24 year-old cordwainer master from the Isle of Man. I am very interested in speaking to anyone with connections to or information about these families. I can be reached at rouvi_family@hotmail.com.
