I have a bit of an odd request. If I had a small 1 inch brass key, similar to a key that might wind a clock, or open a small box, that had on it in raised letters C. T. Cowell across the top and Douglas across the bottom and in the center a six sided star sort thing . On the back are the three legs with spurs.
What might I have?
The reason I ask is that when My grandmother, Catherine Evelyn Wade Cass, Daughter of Evan and Sarah Wade, died in 1972 she told me that "as the first born, I must some day visit the Isle of Man", and when I do I need to take this "key" with me as "it will open many doors". She also said They will know what it is for.The problem is that I don't know who "they" are.
Now keep in mind that she was very ill at the time and I was a mere nine years old, but what she said has kept with me all these years. AS I believe I may have mentioned earlier the Wades of that generation had some very unusual customs they practiced and died without passing them along, this easily runs along those same lines. It seems myths and legends were a large part of their beliefs.
If anyone has any ideas I'm interested in hearing them, even it's to tell me that she was ill I hope this doesn't sound too out of the ordinary. thank you again ron cass
