I've actually been doing what you suggested for the last 2-3 weeks but to no avail. One useful thing to come out of it is the introduction to WW1 related bulletin boards so I have posted some enquiries on them regarding the death of a family member on 3 July 1916 who is commemorated at the Arras Memorial.
There seems to be some confusion somewhere as one person has come back to me advising the "1st/7th Bn. King's Liverpool Regiment was part of the 165th Brigade, 55th (West Lanc.) Div. It arrived at Gezaincourt from Barly (21/7). Entrained at Candas for Mericourt (25/7). To bois des Tailles (28/7), bivouacs near Fricourt (30/7), Caftet Wood (1/7) Moved forward to support trenches near Talus Boise (7/8), then entered the frontline on 9/8". However, two questions come out of this information: 1) why is he commemorated at Arras and 2) (which is one of my initial enquiries), what exactly happened on 3 July?
I've ordered a couple of books which may provide some help but if you have anything further would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks.
