Some of my family research has led me to the Isle of Mann. I have found some documentation which mentions the surname "Skerf" date abt. 1410 I believe. The name continued into the 1500's and so on. By the 1800's, it appears to be commonly spelled "Scarf" and similar sounding names. Can anyone help me to discover if the Scarf's actually descended from the Skerf's. Many of my Scarff/Scarf/Scarfe relatives emigrated from Ireland to Canada but I believe that they may have originally been Vikings that inhabited the Isle of Mann. Thankyou for your assistance.
