In response to Dave Long's Hastings (Hastie) family, I have a Mary Hastings m. to John Beck about 1800. Their children, all but two, were born in Braddan. I believe their daughter, Ann, m. a Hasting(s). There are two baptisms in Malew, St. Mark's in 1831 and 1833; the parents being named as John Hasting and Ann Beck. Also, I found in the Malew parish records, St. Mark's, a Mary Beck, abode: Barrule-beg slate quarries, buried 10 March, 1851, age 90 years. This may seem irrelevant but the quarry, the Hastie (Hastings) name, being married to the Beck name, seem somehow connected. Any help or ideas?
