I run the Cain(e) DNA project. There are two Manx Cain(e) families, the smaller one is of Celtic origin and mainly from the Lonan and Onchan area, the larger family is of Viking origin and shares a common male ancestor with the Keig, Skaggs, Oates, Cormode, Curphey & Cretney families.

It would be good to have you do a Y-DNA test if you're up for joining and I could help you with your research from there. I've got about 9 Cain(e) men so far.
