Does it seem likely that Mr Drysdale would have been the person whose intervention led to the wording added in June 1879 to the January 1878 baptism entry of Annie Quirk’s daughter ? Perhaps Annie had asked Mr Drysdale for financial support and he had alleged that he wasn’t the child’s father. Then in 1911 a decision was made by the copier to omit the father’s details and 1879 correction.
It would be interesting to see if DNA tests on descendants of Annie Isabella Teare nee Quirk / Drysdale and of James and Jemima Drysdale were to show a match.
