I've attached a copy of the 1835 Quebec marriage of John Coyne.

Is there anyone who can help with the French translation ---- in particular the word before fils majeur in the case of John, and the word between fille and majeure in the case of Sarah.

Is it the French way of distinguishing between our English use of "of full age" and "minor" ? Or does fils majeur suggest "oldest son" ?
