Your note didn't include that he had an older sister too, Marjorie Stephens Gelling born 1894, married to Alfred H Stead.in 1929. I found her in FreeBMD and the GRO.

I see you live in Cornwall. My mother was born in Cornwall, so I'm 50% Cornish. Her family moved to Canada in 1919 from Bude but always maintained contacts. Very very long Cornish background. It was fun to do her family history, and fun to visit too.
