Interesting story, in the same area (Winburg, Free State) I've found a young woman named Theresa Gori born 04/06/1866.
Her father was George Gorrie and her mother was Harriet Grout.
There is definitely something to this Gori, Gorrie, Gorry, Gory business in South Africa.
