Hi Sylvia
Here’s some more speculation:
*******
1841
BallaCragga, Santon
Robert Clague 70 farmer
Catherine 30
Jane 6
Jane Cannell 80
Am I right in thinking that this is Robert Clague, father of Elizabeth Collister nee Clague b 1805, with his second wife, Cath alias Hewson and their daughter Jane ? Do you recognise 80 yr old Jane Cannell ? Is it reasonable to speculate that she could be either the grandmother or the step grandmother of John Collister b 1804, son in law of Robert Clague of Ballacregga ?
*******
Name Jane Cannell
Event Type Burial
Event Date 05 Jan 1847
Event Place St Anne, Isle of Man
Age 88
Birth Year (Estimated) 1759
**********
I wonder whether, if Eleanor Cannell b 1775’s parents were Charles Cannell and Ann Bridson, Charles could have been widowed and then married a Jane.
There’s an 1810 Malew marriage of a Charles Cannell to a Jane Killey but no marital status given.
There’s just one baptism I can find for a child of Charles Cannell and Jane Killey ---- Rebeccah b 1811. Have you ever looked at the 29 yr old servant, Rebecca Cannell, in the household of your John Collister b 1804 and Elizabeth nee Clague b 1805 and worked out who she was ?

Rebecca was a house servant / housekeeper in Silverburn in 1851 and 1861, a wool spinner in Ballasalla in 1871, and she died a spinster.
Food for thought, anyway !
