I'm hoping to find someone on this board who is researching the family of a Robert Corlett, who married an Elizabeth Cottier in Braddan, IOM on 23 Feb. 1800.

I've recently come across the 1808 Marown, IOM will for William Cottier, of Ballayemmey, husband of Catherine Carolina Christian Cottier, and found that there were two children listed in his will, a daughter, Elizabeth Corlett, and a son, John Cottier.

I knew about the son, John, ordained a minister in 1804, who was the father of my gggrandfather, Claudius Thomas Cottier, but I was surprised to find a daughter mentioned in the will.

I've found an 1778 christening record in Marown, IOM for an Elizabeth Cottier, who, in looking at the image, was listed in the parish record as the illegitimate daughter of William Cottier and Jane Quine

On 23 Oct. 1781, William Cottier married Catherine Carolina Christian and they had a son, John Cottier, who was christened 28 March 1782 in Marown, IOM.

Catherine Carolina Christian Cottier, wife of William Cottier, died in 1841 in Marown, IOM and in her will there is no mention of an Elizabeth Corlett, or of her children, which, to me, would make sense if she wasn't her daughter.

I'm hoping to find out if the Elizabeth Corlett mentioned in William Cottier's 1808 the will is the Elizabeth Cottier, who married Robert Corlett.
