several years ago I had a query re actual regs - at that time held in the old safe in the cold damp vestry even tho the vicar (then overworked as serving two parishes) wanted to deposit them in the Museum but one or two on parish council refused - the marriage reg was falling apart with loose pages and was in need of serious conservation - it was also very difficult to get any time to look at the registers (this was pre digital photos so any notes had to be written with the register in view)
