I have a bit of a broad question to experts on the board. Apologies that it is not a very precise enquiry.

Is anyone aware of a connection between the Isle of Man and General Sir John Moore?

I have been investigating a tale in our Moore family that we are "related".

However, the General died young, unmarried, at the Battle of Corunna in 1809.

It may be that the "related" refers to a branch of the General's family or even, perhaps, an illegitimate line.
