he Lickney is a modern corruption of Leagherny (-nagh) " Rushy-place," applied to the crossing of the now nearly dry bed of the Struan ny Crawe at the Western entrance to Ramsey ; it lies on the boundary between Maughold and Lezayre. At the time of the Ordnance Survey (1869) it was tidal.
