Can anyone please help with Ramsey place names?
In the 1689 Maughold will of Jony Kerruish als Corlett she bequeathed "half of the Lands of the Leagherny" as well as Ramsey property. At that date was the Leagherny part of the town, or farming land? She also mentions their houses "on ye mooregh".

In Constance Radcliffe's Ramsey book she writes that William Kerruish bought a parcel of land on the Mooragh in 1673. "John's ground passed to the Callows.... while William's (part of the Swimming Pool) came to his grandson Thomas Kerruish..."

The "Swimming Pool"? On the Mooragh? Would houses have been built on it?
