you will enjoy the CD and maybe the sorry and covoluted tale of Ballatrim + Balladromma might be a little clearer
in 1650 Earl James finally gave up on Donald Christian + wife Kathrin who could not 'oin their great want + poverty' pay the 1643 composition fine - Robt Allen vicar Kk Maughold agreed to help by taking over lease + paying fines + puting Donald's gson James (who should have been heir) to trade) - the story is told in Lib Vas entry and two annexed deeds + two recipts by the first Donald + Kath gave Ballatrim + the half qtr called Balladromma (+ their debts) to John Christian gfather by mothers side (ie by his dau Mary) to James - John Christian was noted as sumner + he + his son Wm are noted as having paid the 1643 composition fine for Ballatrim - John with agreement of Mary and James appaers to have sold have Balladromma to Robt Allen (who paid the composition fine of £3 6s 8d as shown by a receipt) and also 20s to Mary + James - by 1704 Tho Allen (son of Robt) is in half Balladromma (ie a qtr of a qtrland) with Edmond Christian in the other half falf quarter with a Robert Christian in Ballatrim - there is also John Christian in the same treen but he got the land by marriage to a dau of the Calow family
However I can't quite see how Edmond got his half of Balladromma - no entry in Lab Vas and I've now done all years 1643 thru to 1702 (tho there are 2 years where no court seems to have taken place)
John Christian's will of 1664 is on my site in full(courtesy J M Oates) so you can see John's children - no Edmond - John's day Mary appears to have remarried and gone to Ireland
as a side note Tho Allen seems to have recompounded for Balladromma in 1670 with one life being of Robt Christian sonne of Robt Xpin ballatrim
