Which is the “former family home from 1890 ish” you’re intending to visit on your trip to the IOM ? I’ve refreshed my memory on your particular branch of the Clague/Clegg family (not the same Clegg line that’s alluded to in the first message in this Bolton Cleggs family thread of messages) and as far as I can see, Stephen Clegg and Jemima Cowley had left the island just prior to the 1871 census. Stephen’s parents Robert Clague and Catherine Clague nee Clague had died 3 or 4 years before the 1891 census ---- their house “Rose Hill” might be the Rosehill Cottage on the A5 going westwards out of Douglas towards Castletown at Richmond Hill.
