I think he was the only Scarffe in bur reg with Raa noted against him

the other purchaser was John Killip(Schoolmaster) who a few years later sold part of his holding for the new church 1734 church (later rebuilt 1834) - in 1783 Lib Assed as part of a 4d intack in the Moan (ie Moaney or turf) James Scarff holds 2d with John Killip holding 1d (a change noted here in Oct 1787) with Philip + Thos Quayle holding other 1d(again a change in Oct 1787) - however no deed I can see for that month thus possibly via a will (need to look at lib vas to see reason)
