the house was built 1833 - the year on the deeds is the year/month it passed through the court for registration - the actual sale could have been significantly before this though registration was supposed to occur within I think 6 months but legal protection only dated from the registration - it sounds as tho both of you are looking for the father of an illegitimate child and somewhere there is family lore re a Harld Farm - I have never come across this name (it doesn't sound a Manx name) but the link to Harold Towers seems purely conjectural - the Nunnery How at least adjacent to river+sea was not I think good farmland and south quay had started to spread out from the early mid 18th Cent - above Harold Tower is what became Douglas Head tourist resort from later on in 19th C
