the land was part of the Nunnery Howe (abbey rent) owned around 1820 by John Taubman of the Nunnery who sold off parcels for building houses etc - on his death the Nunnery + its large estate passed to his 2nd dau who had married Col (+ later Lt Gen) Alexander John Goldie - (their son John adopted named Goldie-Taubman) - Lt Gen Goldie sold [deed SouthSideSale May 1834 #55] to a Miss St John a plot which I think became Harold Tower - you can buy a copy of that deed from Manx Museum (quite expensive) - I havn't reached it in my summaries
