daid should be David
remember Lonan baptisms only from 1718 - the Graue couple were I think Thomas + Ann als Vondy with marr pre 1718 (probably 1702/3 - see Old Lon deed #40] and John as 1st son also pre 1718 - qtrland farms (unless purchased and then only for first disposal) had to be left to heir at law - eldest son etc all set down in law thus often not even mentioned in a will - the widow would have widowright in half or 1/3rd of land (depends on date + whether northside or southside)
The name of a farm mentioned in a deed is very impartant and allows you to trace back - there had to be some mechanism for the person to have acquired this farm
As I said I havn't done all Lonan deeds as yet - another just pulled out of pile is m/c SSS Oct 1762 #23 - dated 6 Nov 1761;John Fargher(Baldrine, Lonan) obo himself; Gilbert Cowle + wife Margt als Crellin (Lonan) obo their dau Margt;to marry within a month;John Fargher (noting that Baldrine already mortgaged to Gilbt Cowle) to settle Baldrine on wife during her life with half if she survives John;Cowle to give £35(Manks) + feather bed etc; Witt James Scarffe, John Quayle
I would read into this that John Fargher of Baldrine was probably a widower (+ probably not a young man)
