Jane CHRISTIAN (c1827) w/o John KILLEY

I am trying to find out more about Jane CHRISTIAN, who was born around 1827 in Maughold and married John KILLEY on 1 Nov 1845. I have found her on the 1851, 1861, 1871, 1881 census in Ramsey, Maughold. Her husband died before the 1861 census, but possibly not long before as their last child was born in March 1861. They had at least 7 children - Jane Ann, John Evan, James, Isabella Christian, Robert, William and Catherine Ellen.

One clue I have to her origin is that in 1881 she had 3 nephews living with her - John J COTTIER, John J KENNISH and William H KENNISH. There is no record of John J Cottiers parents in the IGIs and he was also living with his aunty in 1871. The KENNISH boys were the children of Isabella CHRISTIAN and Thomas KENNISH. Cant' find their marriage on IGI but they seem to be living in Maughold in 1881, with another son. The census puts Isabella as born c1854. So Isabella could have been Janes sister, although there is 27 years between their births. If not sisters, Jane could be an aunty. From the IGI's none of the possible Jane's have the same parents as possible Isabella's.

I can't find Isabella CHRISTIAN in the 1861 or 1871 census. There are a couple of Jane CHRISTIANs that could be this Jane in the 1841 census.

I have had a quick look at the wills on Brian Lawsons site, and nothing seems to add much information. Does anyone have any thoughts about where else I can look to try figure out this puzzle?

Thanks
Lisa
