Maternal Fargher, Kneal, and Clucas lines.

Hello Frances.
Back in February when we started up the Corkill tree, you had helped me establish that William Corkill (d. 1780, Will on MNB) was married to Margaret Faragher (b. 1742, Lonan, d. 1826, Braddan), and that they were the parents of Thomas Corkill (b. 1777, d. 1834). I have had some success working my way up the Faragher branch. Margaret’s parents were John Fargher and Margaret Kneal. John’s Will (Lonan, 1782, on Lawson) lists his daughter as Margaret Corkill, along with sisters Ann Kelwly als Farger, Ellinor (now off island), and a gson John. I haven’t been able to get any further up the Fargher line past him. The 1776 Will (in MNB) of Margaret Faragher states that she was buried 15 Dec 1775 and also “ w/o john, graue;d 14 dec; dau margt corkill; dau elinor fargher; dau ann kewley; gson john fargher.” Her burial date brings you to a burial record that states that her maiden name was Kneal. This then leads to a 1747 Will (in MNB) for her father William Kneal “[bur Lon 17480131]d 30 jan 1747/8; dau margt Fargher; son Danl(exor), Wm+Patk(abroad); gson Wm Kneal. I have not been able to get any further up the Kneal line past him. There is also a Will in 1734 (MNB) for her mother Jony Kneal als Clucas which says “[bur Lon 17341004] d 3 oct; son danl, patrick, wm ;cousin anne fargher als vondy;sis mary;names margt knakill als cottier;sis-i-law jane lowney als kneale;husb wm.” The reference to Anne Fargher als Vondy also shows up in the 1737 Will of Mary Cowin als Clucas ([bur Lon 17380120]d 20 jan 1737/8;bro john clucas(jurby)niece mary quayle als clucas;names ann fargher als vondy, ann quine als fargher, margt fargher als kneal(w/o john);bro dan(son wm);nephew robt cowin;husb gilbt exor.” These two wills suggest that the Clucas siblings were at least Jony, Mary, John and Dan. I haven’t been able to get any further up the Clucas line past Jony. If you or anyone sees anything that will help me to get further up the Fargher, Kneal and Clucas lines, I would be thankful. In the meantime, I will keep plugging away at.
