Queen Hithe St (now Queen St) joins the parade - the Swan Inn was probably on the corner (Parade is the posher address) - a 1868 plan of Castletown is on my CD Rom.
When I researched the early licensing docs they were the actual application papers etc held by Manx museum - later in 19th C (from 1860's ?) the newspapers reported the licensing courts with some details (especially if the High Bailiff was 'on form' in cracking jokes re applications - Manx courts were it seems much more informal than today - thus the actual docs will probably give more detail.
