Thanks Sue, hopefully I may be on the right track with your input, but it still doesn't explain why she used just the name Sophia Gill when she married which is the only info I had to hand - maybe there could be an untold story! By the tie of her death in Brisbane inn 1901 she was listed as Elizabeth Sophia Burton.
