I couldn't see any burial for an Alice Bell - maybe John Alice + family emigrated before 1891 as would have expected more children and a quick search didn't find them in 1891 census index.
Somewhere on these pages is a ref to New Zealand immigration indices - might be worth a check (there are a couple of active + very helpful Kiwi researchers on these pages who might be able to help)
