Here's the scoop: Jane Clugston (b Nov 19, 1865) single & dghtr of John (who marr. Ann Christian) ,son of Archie Clug/Marg. Kinvig (By the way Archie had 3 other children; before he married Margaret: Eliza Clucas Clugston, b 1834 - mother Ann Clucas whom I do believe was liv. at Rhenwyllen PSM same hse as Archie Sr./Mary Shaw; Mary b 1834/5-don't know mother. Jane had 2 other children, namely Lucy May b 1891 m. a Skillicorn, Dgls; Jessie b 1887, d 1894, bur Rushen w/John (grdpa).
I found a marr. 1916 of John H Kinvig in West Derby Lpool to a Rhall (no trace, spell could be wrong) Many Clugstons in that area include. Archie Jr's brother Richard's families, namely: Richard (Dick)b 1862; Robert b 1864; John Thos b 1857; John Henry who marr Marg Creggin Lpool 1872. They had a dghtr in their collection called Eleanor Jane who went by Nellie b 1902?? Could this be the one? Address areas are Aigburth, Garston, W. Derby Lpool.
More info, I found another ltr to my mother, no date, from an E. Riozzi (Mrs.) - could the E be Eleanor and J. H. Kinvig/ Clugston her father????. Ltr. states:..." You say that your Aunt Jane would have been too young to be my father's mother, ..... My late father was b 1896; sis was b 5 yrs before him..." Clearly, to me this is talking abt. John Herbert Clugston and Lucy May (mother Jane). She goes on to state .." Ben Kinvig was an uncle of my father's sister who were Kinvigs...(left 2 houses to his nieces)... that was the family who reared my father, from Castletown, and lived at The Viking" (There was, maybe still, a Viking Hotel in Castletown) . Does any of this help w/mystery of Nellie (Eleanor) Let me know.
Incidentally, I am the dghtr of twin Peggy Clugston PSM, who father was James Rbt. Master Mariner & Coal Merch., his father Wm. Henry, and his father Wm. Henry (both mariners) this latter, bro of Archie, who died before birth of last child. Hope this is helpful. Una
