According to Constance & William Radcliffe, the Treen of Cornabeg in Maughold included the Quarterland Ballagorry Beg which was held by Corkills from 1600 to 1800 "in the little farm, and then from 1800 onwards in Castletown, to which Thomas Corkill (1764-1850) moved...".

"After the first Thomas, entered in 1602, the early generations all bore the Christian name John, but in 1703, Robert Corkill was entered. When he died in 1714 he tried to secure his holding by leaving half of it to his uncle Ewan, until his children 'came to lawful years'. Unfortunately Uncle Ewan died about the same time so Robert's widow, Margaret Ellison, must have had to manage as best she could."

CR describes the market gardens this family kept, and Thomas who was Robert's second son, the eldest son Ewan (1706-1769) having made the farm over to him (Thomas) on his marriage. "On the marriage of Thomas's son William (1734-1805) in 1763 with Catherine Quill , the duty of looking after Ewan was laid on the young couple."

Maughold register has Margaret daur of Henry Ellison bapt 16 Dec 1694. No other children of Henry found.
