I have some incomplete notes on he Garey family - so far distinct from mine, but likely to share ultimate origins . I have a note that Patrick McCasmund was the biggest rent-payer in Alkest Treen in 1540, judgeing by Cubbon's Treen Map ths was part of The Garey. An undated extract from Lib Vast indicates that Finlo Crowe and Margaret Crowe were the nephews of Patrick. However there were multiple entries of different Crows in Alkest and would not like to say which was the main line there . Would be very interested if there are any male line descendants of these Crowes to join in genetic study ... !
