Re: Crowe of Garey Lezayre
In Response To: Re: Crowe of Garey Lezayre ()

Frances,

Thank you for the post.

I am probably missing something but I am struggling to work out from the mortgage why Edmd Crowe would possibly be the gfa of Margaret Looney the wife of William Crowe. Is that what you meant or are we talking at crossed purposes?

The Crowes in Lezayre seem to have been more a clan than a family - and so many common names makes them difficult to follow. Ch 20 of the Annals of Kirk Christ Lezayre on your website indicates that in 1703 Garey was in the possession of
Wm. Crow ½ Quarterland, 23s. 4d.
Edmond Crow, other ½ Quarterland, 21s. 0d
I haven't checked it at MM yet.

The same volume under Garey records
1645. Wm. Crow, Grandfather
but gfa to whom is about as clear as mud.

You will probably have noted as per Donna's post that this all links through the Kinleys in Santon to the Cains whom you helped us unravel last year.

We have had our MNB cd for around a year so are there upgrades available or do we need to purchase a new one?

Many thanks

Carol
