'My' Mary Ann Marsden was born to a Joseph Marsden in 1825
But he seems very elusive - I can't find census records or birth death or marriage records although the fact that she held shared in the Steam Packet and he was a director seems quite a good indicator.

He didn't ever marry Mary Ann's mother so I wonder if this was a 'youthful mistake' on his behalf and settled down later
