I do have the individual on the 1911 census so that is no problem, it is after this date that is proving to be difficult.

On other record sites you are able to search first to see if the records are there that you want. Is this the same for newspapers that are accessible from imuseum? Or does a subscription have to be paid first in order to see if the records are held or not, only payment required when you want to look at the record. Does anyone know the answer to this please?

On the welcome page to the iMuseum there are the words 'Manx Newspapers, 1792 to 1960, searchable at the click of a button', but I have unable to find where to search these, if anyone can help with this I would be grateful.

Sue, yes I have checked the manxbmd site but nothing on there, don't know if it is completed yet or not. The other good suggestions you mention I will bear in mind, I think that newspapers would be a good start but it is trying to look at them that is causing a problem at the moment.
