Joyce Oates has sent me her will transcripts for the ten years following her previous ones from 1637 to 1659, and Ian Radcliffe has now put them up on his website: lawsonsiom.freevar.com/

The transcripts are for Arch wills, presentments, etc. from 1660-1664 [LDS film no: 0106200], and Arch wills, presentments, etc. from 1665-1669 [LDS film no: 0106201]. It is well worth reading her introduction at the beginning, which explains how she went about transcribing the records, and the connections she made.

She has also updated her index, which now covers the whole period from 1637-1669.

Joyce has decided to backtrack next, and do the 1628 to 1636 wills. The typed index from 100 years ago starts with 1632, but there are a lot of wills before then. She has included a few, which I will send to Ian. Joyce thinks this early period will probably fill a thousand pages. She writes "when I think of the work involved, I take a breath and remember that I am just doing one will at a time".

We are so lucky that Joyce is still transcribing wills after so many years, and is willing to share them with us online.
