Donna
I think wife of hugh Montgomery (various spellings) was actually Ann Tubman - they had two ch Jane (as above) + margt (bur Mic 16700424)
Hugh's will d 6 Sep 1671;dau Jane exex (if she die to his wife);wife alive + to have tuition;witt Ro Parre, [?major] Ric Baxter, John Cotter x, Robert Sterkrell?;Capt Sam Radcliffe claims 18s 6d;inv + debts etc inc to his servants + rent due from Tho Crane;1682: Jaine at age acks mother
Ann I think married Adam Caine Mic 16741215 and had 3 ch (last in 1682) - there is an Adam caine buried Mic 17010418 noted as b'gawn being good fryday (Ballagawne (rent 18s (36s post 1704) in treen of Barrickmore) which is on coast south of Michael Village and was owned by John Caine in 1696 - in 1704 by Margt the daughter of William Caine and William Curlett her husband - I havn't done any work on this treen as yet (tho entries are somewhat sparse in Lib vast) but think John Cain was son of Wm Cain.
There is a will 1687 for Wm Cain ballagawne - d 30 jan 1687;ballagawne;only dau margt(ua);bro Patt, Adam;money due from Jo Cain glover;wife jony als christian exor;pledges Capt Tho Christian + Dan Mcylrea;1695: margt caine at age and acks to be satisfied with mother + with her part (half miln, half crop etc)
There does not appear to be a will for Adam Caine unless he is the Adam caine of Orisdale who died 1733 and who acquired Ballamanaugh by marriage to Ellinor Steon in Kk Michael 16960804 + whom I have traced www.manxnotebook.com/gazateer/ml_oryd.htm
there is also a burial of an Adam Caine in Lezayre 16970907 tho name Cain fairly rare in this parish (but havn't done any work on Lezayre property tho no entries in Mortgagess or deeds) - any info re Lezayre Cains welcome
