The best source for this family in general is a booklet privately published in about 1970 by J. Stowell Kenyon called something like "Gill and Gell, the Gells of Kennaa". Sorry I'm in UK away from my lists for the exact detail. I share a descent with the Gills from the family of Rev. Henry Corlett, Vicar of German (Peel)who was the only C of E cleric sympathetic to the followers of Wesley. The Corlett lineage is written up in my paper in Proc. IOMNH & AS "The Corlett family of Ballakoig, Ballaugh". If it isn't on line you have permission anytime, Frances as there is quite as bit of interest in the Gill descendancy. Their extensive connection with the C of E appears to stem from Rev Henry C., and of course we was the amanuensis of Bishop Thomas Wilson in his old age. The connection goes back further, with Henry's grandfather Thomas Corlett being one of Wilson's henchmen, sharing his imprisonment in Castle Rushen. Finally Thomas himself was the nephew (check) of the Manx Vicar of Bray, Rev. Thomas Parr of Malew.
