You certainly seem to have followed, and eliminated, the Patrick Cains given in the parish registers. However, you are right; there could well be another Patrick Cain who isn't given in the registers.

I am not sure there is a way to verify that an illegitimate child named Patrick grew up and emigrated to the United States...

And, of course, the other possibility is that he went first to Ireland...

You have put a tremendous amount of work into analyzing these Patrick Cain families. And, what a great example of how to use wills and land records when the parish registers are missing. Congratulations and thank you.
